LASSO, a leading provider of workforce management software solutions for the event and entertainment industry, today announced the opening of an office in Charleston, South Carolina which employs key members of LASSO's technology team and is led by technology leader and South Carolina native, Michael Wright.

Wright will oversee the strategic direction of the company's technology and drive innovation in order to meet the needs of LASSO's rapidly growing customer base. Wright will also lead LASSO's new Charleston-area office which the company said will serve as a hub for the expanding technology and software development team. The office opened in recent months and employs core technology roles including software engineering, product development, quality assurance, and data science and analytics. The company is currently hiring for several positions at this location.

With over 25 years of experience in technology, Wright has led the development of robust products and built highly motivated, productive teams for both start-up and enterprise organizations. Previously, Wright was the owner and principal of Sandlapper Technologies, a consulting firm helping emerging software companies put technology strategies in place to grow. He also served as the chief technology officer of Vizbii Technologies, vice president of Technology at PeopleMatter, and manager of software development at Blackbaud, Inc.

"I jumped on the chance to join the company because I believe LASSO is positioned very well to solve a unique problem for businesses that have some real challenges," said Wright. "Event and entertainment companies struggle with manual processes and a lack of integrated solutions or even solutions built for how they uniquely operate. This causes inefficiencies making it difficult for companies to be competitive, stay profitable, and even scale their resources to meet demands. I'm excited to shape the technology roadmap so that we can continue to help these companies compete, grow, and better serve their clients."

"Michael understands the overwhelming opportunity that we have here at LASSO to really have a positive influence on an often-underserved industry," said Angela Alea, president of LASSO. "Michael is a proven strategic thinker and capable of bridging the gap between the technology and business teams. He also has an excellent understanding of today's technology-driven marketplace and a proven track record of delivering on time and to the highest standards. We couldn't be happier to have him join our team and lead our new technology office in Charleston."

"We opened an office in Charleston because it is one of the fasted growing regions for qualified technology talent," said Alea. "Not to mention that it's also a fun place to live and visit! Charleston continues to invest in programs to aid technology companies and programs in the region and we are impressed with all the area and people have to offer. The technology team located in Charleston will have a direct impact on the future of LASSO and our products."
