Charleston’s Newest Tech Teaching Hub Aims To Deliver Classes To The Masses

A onetime empty ground-level corner of the parking garage of the Charleston Tech Center is aiming to make technology industry careers accessible to the masses.

The 1,200-square-foot space near Morrison Drive and Conroy Street on the upper peninsula is a finished glass storefront neatly furnished with rows of fresh, white tables and gray chairs awaiting students, young and old, interested in learning skills for higher-paying jobs that can change their lives.

"This is not just about an adult program," said Ernest Andrade, executive director of the Charleston Digital Corridor, which spearheaded the new CDC Learning Center with $250,000 from Google. Read more:
